Today I'm writing in a more relaxed tone than usual because the topic calls for it. Just sharing a few websites I've bookmarked over time. Some are quirky, some are educational, and some are just plain mesmerizing. Here are my 10 fascinating websites to learn something new and kill time! Fair warning — I saved the best for last.
1. Crypto Maps
My most recent addition to the list. This site lets you visualize the market capitalization of major cryptocurrencies. Color indicators go from green to red to show price fluctuations, while gray indicates stability.
2. Noisli
A simple, single-purpose website. Its goal? To immerse you in the soundscape of your choosing. The recordings are excellent quality — ocean waves, thunderstorms, rain, wind, forest ambiance, and more. For those who need white noise (that old TV static sound) to focus, they've got that too... just in case.
3. This to That
A bit unusual but undeniably useful — this site could easily live in the DIY section of a hardware store's website. What glue should you use to bond vinyl to ceramic? Leather to metal? It's all there. They've even thrown in some helpful tips.
4. Is It Christmas?
Perfect as the holidays approach — and great for reminding your kids that Santa is currently hunting for the best deals online for their toys! Because making your kids happy is wonderful, but when they ask if Santa will bring that toy that's already sold out across the continent, just leave your tablet open to this site. "NO" — it's not Christmas yet! (Translation: give me time to check if I can find one somewhere.)
5. Guess the Language
Dead simple. You hear audio, and you trust your gut. Sometimes it's genuinely impossible to get right, but I find these kinds of sites really entertaining.
6. GeoGuessr
Sticking with the guessing theme, GeoGuessr drops you at a random spot captured by Google Maps Street View. Then it's up to you to figure out where you are. Most of the time you really have to pay attention to the details — road markings, signs, vegetation, and so on.
7. Tiii.me
How long would it take to watch every episode of a TV show? This site will tell you down to the minute. For example, it takes exactly 2 days, 18 hours, and 59 minutes to binge-watch all of Game of Thrones (which I still haven't watched — and I'm honestly not that tempted).
8. How Many Astronauts Are in Space Right Now?
The title says it all. The site also displays the names and nationalities of the astronauts currently in orbit. A few years back you might have spotted Thomas Pesquet on the list.

9. Airport WiFi Passwords Around the World
Completely useless from home, but no less fascinating. Now you know how to get the WiFi password at virtually any airport on the planet.
10. Radio Garden
This one is my absolute favorite. A Google Earth-style globe that lets you listen to radio stations from around the world! It's a great way to realize how many countries are heavily influenced by American artists. On Ice FM in Greenland (could they have picked a better name?) you'll hear the same smooth, generic pop that loops on mainstream stations everywhere. But there are also incredible sounds to discover — from Japanese opera to Russian chanson. I won't spoil it further. It's truly brilliant.
As you can tell, Radio Garden is my top pick. If you know of any other quirky or fascinating websites, feel free to share!
